Mag.psych. & Active National Team player
mag. psych. | Sport psychology trainee | Active rower, Croatian national team athlete
Dora chose rowing, a sport in which she does not have optimal physical predispositions. She did not give up. She competes actively at the national team level. Why? “I love challenges.” Such choices define a person.
She applies the same principle to psychology. She wrote her master’s thesis on the topic “The direct impact of aerobic and anaerobic training on the emotional effect of rowers.” Theory and practice: both live.
In addition to her degree in psychology, Dora graduated from the Olympic Academy and earned a coaching diploma in rowing. On weekends, she coaches beginners at her home club’s rowing school. She knows the sport inside out – both in front of and behind the bench.
She came to Mentalni Trening as a student for an internship. Partly out of a desire to develop, partly out of a desire to help other athletes who are going through the same challenges she has: the stress of competition, injuries, changing sports and coaches, balancing sports, studies, and work.
Stress at major competitions. Euphoria and disappointment. Serious injuries. Changing sports. Changing coaches. Giving up sports – and returning. Mismatch in weight before a competition. Doubt. Insecurity. Balancing sports, college, and work.
Dora went through all of this personally – and today she uses it directly in her work with athletes who are going through the same thing.
